Alaskan high kick

Alaskan high kick The object of the Alaskan high kick is for the athlete to support his or herself with only one hand and kick or touch a target suspended with one foot in an overhead position.

To make the game more challenging, the athlete must grasp their other foot with their non-supporting hand and may not let go of it any time while executing the kick and must land on the kicking foot while demonstrating clear balance and control.

During the first round, the event judge and participants determine the height to be kicked and the height of the target is raised one inch for each subsequent round. Each player is allowed three attempts at each height and a player may decline to kick at any height, however once an attempt has been made the kicker must continue until he or she is successful or has been eliminated.

Alaskan high kick The player who kicks the target at the greatest height will be declared the winner. In the event of a tie it will be broken as follows:

  1. The least number of attempts
  2. The least number of failures
