One-foot high kick

One-foot high kick The goal of the one-foot high kick is for the player to kick an object that has been suspended at a measured distance from the ground with one foot.

During the first round the target is suspended at a height determined by the event judges after consultation with the participants. The target is then raised two inches per round.

A coach will usually stand by the kick-stand to offer guidance to each participant on their respective kicking technique. This is done to give each participant an opportunity to maximize his or her potential and to learn from someone who may have been in a similar situation and is able to offer constructive advice.

The target must be clearly struck by one foot and the player must land on the same foot that they kicked with and maintain balance in order for a kick to be considered successful. Each player is allowed three attempts at each height. A player may decline to kick at any height, however once an attempt has been made at a particular height, the kicker must continue to kick at that height until they are successful or have been eliminated.

One-foot high kick The player who kicks the target at the greatest height will be declared the winner. In the event of a tie, it will be broken as follows:

  1. Least number of attempts
  2. Least number of failures
