One-hand reach

One-hand reach One of the more spectacular sports of Northern Games, the one hand reach requires an athlete's combination of muscular coordination, skill and balance. The athletes must balance their entire body on the fingertips of one hand and touch an object above their head with the other hand.

The players will position themselves so that the target will not be any further away than their fingertips when their arm is extended parallel to the floor and will balance their body parallel to floor on one hand. Next the player shall reach out and strike the target clearly while maintaining their balance without any portion of their body touching the floor.

One-hand reach During the first round, the starting height will be established by the event judges after consulting with the competitors and the target will be raised one inch per round. Each player may take three attempts at each height and will be eliminated if they are unable to strike the target after three attempts.

The player who reaches the target at the greatest height will declared the winner. In the event of a tie it will be broken as follows:

  1. The least number of attempts
  2. The least number of failures
